Invisalign®

Clear, Removable, Comfortable Aligners

The advanced Invisalign system uses removable clear plastic trays that are comfortable to wear. Each set of aligners shifts your teeth slightly until dentists determines the optimal position has been reached.

At New You Dental Centers, we will perform an evaluation and diagnosis to make sure Invisalign® is right for you.

Invisalign

1

Invisalign® is Clear

Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that allows you to straighten your teeth discreetly and comfortably. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners that fit snugly over your teeth. These aligners are virtually invisible, making it possible to straighten your teeth without anyone knowing.

2

Invisalign® is Removable

Unlike braces, you can eat and drink what you want during treatment. You can also brush and floss normally to maintain good oral hygiene. The removable Invisalign aligners offers you the flexibility and convenience to manage your dental care effortlessly.

3

Invisalign® is Comfortable

No metal brackets or wires to cause mouth irritation, and less time in the dentist’s chair getting adjustments. This means you can enjoy a more comfortable experience throughout your orthodontic treatment, with fewer visits to the dentist’s office for routine check-ups and modifications.

Fastbraces®

Safe, Gentle, and Affordable Alternative to Traditional Orthodontic Braces

The Fastbraces® method straightens teeth at the roots from the very beginning of treatment. Fastbraces® quickly and effectively resolve issues including severe crowding of teeth, open bite, high canines, overbite, spacing issues and crossbite.

Orthodontic Retainers

Retainers Keep Your Teeth in Place After Straightening With Braces or Aligners

Retainers are made to hold teeth in their new positions while the gums and bones settle into their new positions. Both children and adults experience changes to their dental structure throughout their lives. Retainers serve to keep teeth aligned as the facial structure changes.

Retainers

1

Metal Retainers

“Hawley” retainers are the most common type of orthodontic retainer because they are durable, adjustable, and removable. A metal wire is mounted in an acrylic arch to keep it securely in the patient’s mouth. The acrylic comes in many fun colors!

2

Clear Retainers

These removable, clear retainers are custom-fit to your teeth and fit just like a mouthguard.

3

Permanent Retainers

This type of retainer is a metal wire bonded (glued) to the back of your teeth to keep them in place. They are not visible to others and do a great job maintaining your smile.

Patient Education

Can I Get Braces if I Have Cavities?

Before getting braces, it is essential to address any existing cavities. Braces can complicate dental treatment, so it’s best to have your cavities filled to ensure a healthy oral environment during orthodontic treatment. Your orthodontist will work with your dentist to develop a treatment plan that addresses your cavities first.

Can I Get Braces if I Have Fillings?

Yes, you can get braces if you have fillings. Fillings do not interfere with the orthodontic process. Your orthodontist will carefully plan the placement of brackets and wires around your existing dental work to ensure effective tooth movement and alignment.

Can I Get Braces With Weak Teeth?

Weak teeth can be a concern, but it does not necessarily prevent you from getting braces. Your orthodontist will assess the condition of your teeth and may recommend additional treatments to strengthen them before starting orthodontic treatment. Proper care and monitoring during the process will help protect and improve the health of your teeth.

Are Braces Uncomfortable or Painful?

It is common to experience some discomfort or soreness when you first get braces or after adjustments. This is usually due to the pressure applied to move your teeth into the correct position. The discomfort is generally temporary and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Most patients adjust to their braces within a few days to a week.

What Can and Can't You Eat With Braces?

When you have braces, it’s important to avoid foods that can damage the brackets or wires. Foods to avoid include hard candies, nuts, sticky sweets like caramel and taffy, and crunchy foods like popcorn and hard bread. Instead, opt for softer foods like pasta, dairy products, soft fruits, and cooked vegetables. Maintaining a braces-friendly diet will help ensure successful treatment and prevent damage to your orthodontic appliances.

How to Take Care of Braces and Aligners?

Maintaining braces requires diligent oral hygiene and mindful eating habits. It’s essential to brush your teeth after every meal using a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste to remove food particles and plaque from around the brackets and wires. Flossing daily with the help of a floss threader or orthodontic floss is crucial for cleaning between teeth and around the braces. Interdental brushes can also be helpful for reaching areas that are difficult to clean with a regular toothbrush.

For aligners, the maintenance routine is slightly different. It’s important to remove the aligners when eating or drinking anything other than water to avoid staining and damage. After each meal, brush and floss your teeth before reinserting the aligners to prevent trapping food particles and bacteria. Clean the aligners daily using a soft toothbrush and clear antibacterial soap, or use a specialized aligner cleaning solution. Regular dental check-ups and following your orthodontist’s instructions will ensure that both braces and aligners effectively straighten your teeth while maintaining optimal oral health.
